I will add some rkmeras, to go further.Some paintings on Naqada ceramics, such a scale patterns , were an imitation of stone vessels; more generally, the shape of these ceramics were inspired by those of stone vessels.Many studies and scientific articles have aimed to give a detailed chronology of these ceramics (which are the best materials to set a chronological frame for Predyastic Egypt). The work of sir W.M.F.
